I CAME LATE
As i sat on the chair in my sitting room, tears began to roll down my cheeks. More tear would flow over and over again each time i remembered that i didnt do all i had to do in that situation. Oooh! if only i had been a little bit more careful.
It all started one monday morning, when everyone in my compound had gone out for their various endeavours of life; all i heard was a very loud noise that came from the front of my little one bedroom flat appartment. I wanted going out to actually know what was the cause of the loud noise, but i was discouraged by the thought that it could be the usual noise that always came from the motor park.
After i stepped outside to go for the business of the day, i saw a large crowd of people gathered on the street. When i got closer, i saw a lifeless young man who had bled to death. I felt deep pain when i heard people complain that the man would not have died if someone had come to his aid about 10 minutes earlier. Joseph was an ambitious young man who was the envy of the entire society.
The more people complained, the more hot tears of regret would roll down my cheeks. I could not help but blame myself every passing minute for not have come out to check what the loud noise was all about. Joseph was such an ambitious young man who was an envy of the entire society. If only i had come to his aid early enough, i could have saved his life.
